Chalice

I love this piece and may have to keep it, at least for a little while.  Abstract art is a powerful genre when it lands and if it lands, your body will tell you.

My thoughts on this work….

“Chalice” encaustic on cradled wood 11” x 14” 2025

The energetic lines in the center that draw my attention.  Thistle-like, cupping hands, flower parts sepal petals and receptacle. Cotton boll.

Receiving. Floating dandelion seed. Hopeful fortitude. Gathering.

White amplitude lines below- a transmission from higher knowing. Communication, connection. Frequencies, network

Color- white, earth tones, violet, pale blue, cream

Violet orbs, blue flame-spiritual guides

Space- outside of time, another dimension

I made a small series of encaustic work, this was the last of 6 pieces.  I made plans, thought a lot about them. I commenced, the result was barren of life. Time to pivot.

My new approach was to let go of my plans, not think, not judge, and not to question. When I found myself questioning my reason for adding or subtracting I stopped and told myself - all actions are needed, nothing is wasted. My job is just to do, to carry out, to channel- the only me in it is the collective me (the you and me). I listened to all cues and carried them out, even the ones that felt uncomfortable. I noticed the hesitation, the resistance, and returned to doing. I stayed with the process-and excepted there may not be fruit.

I’m left with gratitude when I look at these marks.
